As informal club house of the Nantong Tigers Rugby Club, Tiger Tiger Bar was established by the team’s coaches and senior players in 2007, since every good rugby player needs somewhere to hang out after a hard day’s play. Since then, Tiger Tiger has evolved into an institution all of its own, going from strength to strength to become one of the premier bars and hangouts in Nantong city.
Not simply a regular sports bar, “TT”, as it has affectionately become known, is a home away from home for people throughout Nantong city - local residents, expatriate businessmen and teachers alike, and a welcome shelter for those in town for a short stretch, whether from another Chinese city or from overseas. A daily rendezvous for many, patrons find themselves enjoying a wide variety of drinks in the company of a diversity of regulars that cannot be equalled - Chinese textile merchants, rugby players, foreign commodity traders, sailors, English language students, teachers, Japanese investors, engineers, Tai Chi instructors and colourful local vagabonds at any given time across the day or week.
